Typing speed test in English and Turkish

Measure how fast you type in words per minute (WPM) over 15, 30 or 60 seconds. The clock starts on your first key. The text is a random mix of everyday five-letter English or Turkish words. WPM counts correct characters divided by five, the usual convention for typing tests.

More than one number

When the run ends you see WPM, accuracy, raw speed (every keystroke, errors included), mistakes and consistency, a chart of your speed second by second, and a key heat map that shows which letters you type slowest and which you miss most. That tells you what to practise, not just how fast you were.

Race your own ghost

After your first run you can switch on Ghost race. You get the same text as your best run and a marker shows where your best run was at each moment, with a live count of how many characters you are ahead or behind.

• English or Turkish, with an optional setting that forgives missing Turkish diacritics (typing c for ç).
• Punctuation and numbers modes for a harder, more realistic text.
• Press Tab to restart at any time, and copy your result as text to share it.

How is WPM calculated?

Correct characters divided by five, scaled to one minute. Raw WPM uses all keystrokes instead.

Are my results stored?

Your best run for each setting is kept in your own browser. There is no account, and nothing is uploaded unless you choose to post a score to the leaderboard under a nickname.

Does it work on a phone?

It opens the on-screen keyboard when you tap the text. A physical keyboard gives more reliable speed measurements.
