Overview
Asmens is a lightweight native macOS app that turns the notch into an interactive island. Hover over it for your music, drop files on it, follow a timer or a download, and get alerts without leaving what you are doing. On displays without a notch it becomes a floating pill in the menu bar. It works locally: there are no accounts and no telemetry, and every permission is optional. The name comes from the Lithuanian word for a blade.
What it does
- Music and video controls, lyrics, and a progress bar that grows flowers as the song plays
- Drop files on the notch; clipboard history with one-click image and PDF actions
- Watch part of any window and get an alert when a download or build finishes
- Timers, calendar, battery, Bluetooth, per-app volume and profiles that switch with what you're doing
- A local API and command-line tool, so your own apps can use the island
- A floating pill on displays without a notch
